☭ Soviet (Bloc) Spring 🌷

This spring, I'm going to dive into the films of the Warsaw Pact nations — Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and the USSR — made between the end of WWII and the collapse of the Soviet Union. (I planned this before that region of the world was dragged into war, but here we are.)

There are at least five films — typically many more — on the list from each member nation, and I've tried to mix very well known with the more obscure (including all of the movies about Native Americans starring Gojko Mitić, obviously). Please share any favorites you've got, particularly those directed by women, just be aware some biggies have been left off intentionally, for a variety of reasons.
