The Man Who Fell to Earth 1976
Such a glorious mess, makes life on Earth look truly strange and brutal in a way very few films of its kind are able to. The off-kilter performances and mis-en-scene, the barrage of near-perfect graphic matches, the low-key, unassuming, cinematography, all adds up to a very special film that does much more than coast on Bowie’s formidable star power.
