And you thought Suicide Squad had a lot of helicopter crashes.
Just like with Godzilla, Kong is another one where I have limited experience with. The only Kong movie I've seen is the Peter Jackson one. Kong: Skull Island is another great movie in this MonsterVerse franchise. The acting is better with more standout performances from Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, and you can't go wrong with John Goodman. The story is great as well. I do like that the whole movie is on the island. The use of the Vietnam War ear was also a good choice. I like the juxtaposition that Kong fights to survive, where Samuel L. Jackson fights to win and after what he feels is a loss will do anything to feel like his time there was worth it. The visuals are fantastic and once again the creature design and sounds are great and unique.
I will admit, this isn't for everyone. Wether, you're looking for more of a traditional Kong story or it's too actiony. I get it. This is just trying to have a good time and I will admit is a guilty pleasure.
After watching this, I can't wait for Godzilla and Kong to go at it.
