The Harry Potter movies are filled with charm and wonder and so many awe-inspiring moments. Something that the Fantastic Beasts movies do not have. Both franchises are set in the Wizarding World and heavily feature magic and imaginative concepts throughout, but the Fantastic Beasts movies lack the core reason why the Harry Potter movies work.

This being that the charm of those movies doesn't come from the fact that there is magic. The charm comes from the fact that the…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

(I posted a spoiler-free brief review after my first viewing. This is an in-depth spoiler-filled review that I was always intent on writing).

A disappointing conclusion to a trilogy that had so much potential. Before I go further, I should talk about my feelings on the sequel trilogy as a whole. Definitely enjoyed this a lot more on rewatch. The first 45 minutes are still a little rushed and the score can drown out the dialogue at times, but I can appreciate what the story was trying to say on this second viewing.

Quentin Tarantino is one of my favourite filmmakers. Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Basterds are two of my favourite films of all time. Plus, Reservoir Dogs, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight and Kill Bill, I love very much. And Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a welcome addition to his filmography.

It’s pretty clear when watching Tarantino’s movies that they are inspired by movies of the Golden Age of Hollywood, and here, he respectfully pays homage to that era. The…

    Bohemian Rhapsody

Following it's four Oscar wins, (sigh), I felt the need to contribute my thoughts fully for why I was not a fan of this movie, and why it certainly did not deserve a Best Picture nomination, as well as receiving the most wins of the night.

My main issue was that I predicted every story beat before it happened. It literally follows the basic plot structure of every other musician movie. Main character is in a dead end job, he…
