Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 delivers an emotional and gritty grand finale that perfectly encapsulates the complex and troubled characters we've come to love. The ragtag group of superheroes is back, once again navigating their painful pasts in search of a sense of belonging. But the superhero shenanigans are secondary to a story about the power of love and compassion towards difficult people during difficult times. Despite their settings, this character-driven element gives the Guardians movies a grounded and relatable quality that sets them apart from the rest of the MCU. It's a bittersweet send-off, but one that offers catharsis and closure, and still manages to be a rollicking time at the theater.
