Ryan Sutton’s review published on Letterboxd:
I’ve never seen anything like this before. Ever. And to be completely honest, I’m not entirely sure that I got it but I’ll give it a try. To me, what stood out was the idea that the man felt lost in his peer crowd; in society. He couldn’t stand continuing in his endless cycle of compliance so he fought his way through the crowd, ventured through darkness, and met the girl of his dreams, who was also like him. So anyway, that’s my take. I really need to see more of Paul Thomas Anderson’s work. But check out Anima. It’s a brilliant social commentary.
