Watched a second time, mostly to see someone’s reaction. Less shocking the second time around, but still tough to watch.
I see all the reviews saying this is a great throwback 70's/80's horror flick. I can't agree. Bad writing, sloppy directing and piss poor acting doesn't make it cute, funny or remotely interesting. It just felt like a waste of time. The extra half of a star is for the practical effects from John Carl Buechler. The kills are great. Skip ahead to those and watch it as a five minute short.

"This is the end, friend!"
I've never gotten down with the Child's Play franchise. I know I saw this film, likely before 1990, but I've never seen any of the follow up films. That's about to change.
Entertaining and amusing from beginning to end, if not totally ground breaking.
Brad Dourif is brilliant as Chucky and the hairstyles remind me of my teenage years.
Any movie that opens up with blowing up a toy store is OK by me.
