Ryan Swanson’s review published on Letterboxd:
I'm very much NOT a comedy snob but for some reason I've never been very high on Eric Andre. His shtick always came off as doing CRAZY and RANDOM things and drawing attention to how CRAZY and RANDOM they were.
Bad Trip was surprisingly great. Weaving tropes and narratives of a traditional buddy roadtrip narrative with real-life pranks was genius. It was surprisingly un-cynical, too, in showing the best in people and the pranks weren't trying to make the bystanders the butt of the joke.
It felt good to just watch a low-stakes comedy movie that was actually really funny.
