Boiling Point

Boiling Point ★★★½

Would have skipped this one had I known it was shot in a single take. The technique is always a feat of choreography but I can’t help but think I’m watching theater. At least the setting is a restaurant kitchen -a naturally chaotic space- so the camera being obtrusive adds to the effect.

Some of the characters here border on caricature (the hostility coming out of nowhere in one case), but I get what the director was going for. Any customer service professional encounters abysmal patrons on a regular basis, so putting that on film can be a PSA.
