Where the Crawdads Sing

Where the Crawdads Sing ★★★

This was a captivating enough murder mystery romantic drama to sit through. Daisy Edgar-Jones stars as Kya, a girl who raised herself into adulthood in the marsh and becomes a suspect after a man she was involved with was found dead. Kya is a complex character and I like how Edgar-Jones portrayed her. Although it was hard to buy in she’s a marsh girl. She's way too gorgeous. It jumps back and forth through flashbacks. The backstory wasn’t written tightly. I thought the courtroom scenes were the weakest part. At points, I felt the runtime. It‘s a little over 2 hours. The ending was alright. It didn’t pack any punches yet it was strangely comforting. Overall, it's a decent watch.
