Big step down from Malignant because while that movie was fun and batshit and distinct from anything I've ever seen, this movie was sooo predictable and didn't do anything new as a modern take on Chucky. Anything remotely interesting (the dances, the running on all fours like a feral hog, etc.) was revealed in the shitass trailers and the rest is forgettable and lame and I didn't like it. Still excited to see what Akela Cooper writes next because it rules that she isn't afraid of doing campy weirdo shit, but this didn't work for me as much as I had hoped it would
