Y Tu Mamá También

Y Tu Mamá También ★★★★★

First of all I want to emphasize that Alfonso Cuarón is one of my favorite directors, every work of his has a level of technical and emotional excellence that I always end up in awe.

Despite all this, Y Tu Mamá También really surprised me. I expected it to be a very good coming of age film, but I didn't expect how beautiful it is aesthetically, every shot of the film is really amazing and the camera movement is wonderful. I also didn't expect how deep it could go and how it deals with themes like life, death, friendship and sex so well. It is also really clever how Cuarón juxtaposes the journey of these three individuals with the socio-political situations in Mexico of the time.

I think the ending is wonderful, it's really melancholic and leaves the film in your mind probably forever.
