• Blue Ruin

    Blue Ruin

was underwhelmed by this the first time i saw it a few years back and forgot most of it as a result. this rewatch didn’t really change my feelings on it. it’s decently crafted but ultimately just doesn’t do much for me. as far as films of this nature go, i much prefer Shotgun Stories.

“i see some of y’all aint laughing. you kiss my ass. that’s funny.”

i miss when comedy was good.

    ”what’s the P stand for?”
    “pussy.”

  • (500) Days of Summer

    (500) Days of Summer

i wanted to write something long but it’s late and i would like to have sex right now so that’s what i’m gonna do.

to make a long story short... i wish i just watched Annie Hall instead (i know, i know—I’M SORRY)

  • Dredd

    Dredd

this has been praised on a certain podcast on several occasions so i figured i’d watch the original and then check out the og and then watch this one. and ya know what? the boys didn’t let me down! pretty tight! far better than the stallone one (which isn’t even all that good). might even be a better tower action movie than the supremely overrated The Raid.

  • The Color of Money

    The Color of Money

“not bad for a blind man. rack ‘em.”

initially i thought the film suffered from being directly related to The Hustler. however, whatever issues i had with scorsese’s take on fast eddie, they immediately vanished the second he picks the balabushka back up.

would have been better if the film ended with them playing straight pool as opposed to 9 ball.

  • The Hustler

    The Hustler

spent half the time thinking about how much money i could have won if only i put 100 bucks on phil mickelson winning the pga championship... so whatever moral i was supposed to take away from this was lost on me. money mindset over everything, baby.

  • Wrath of Man

    Wrath of Man

“people keep asking if i’m back and i haven’t really had an answer. but now, yeah, i’m thinking i’m back!”—the movies, 2021

  • Into the Sun

    Into the Sun

genuinely feels like this is a film made by aliens trying to pass it off as something made by a human. seagal's lack of any kind of effort really shines here. one of the worst movies i've ever seen lol

  • The Kid Detective

    The Kid Detective

“this guy doesn’t kno what he’s talking about”
    “well... your dad is gay.”

    another triumph.

did a small thread in an attempt to capture some of the brilliance but obviously it will not do something with this grand a scope justice. but here it is anyway: twitter.com/responsiblerob/status/1386530001839824903?s=21

this is not simply a comedy web series. it is one of the most important works of art of the 21st century.
