This is easily the most disposable of Anderson’s work. There is absolutely no emotional crux, inherent due to the anthology presentation. It’s visually stunning and engaging. Technically brilliant as always. The first story is wonderful and investing and Brody and Del Toro are incredible. However it’s ultimately a inconsistent gimmick. A minor disappointment knowing how Anderson’s filmography has treated me the last 20 years.
