• Titane

I think I liked it? I don't know what to think of it, but I greatly appreciate the filmmaking in this

The last 2/3 of the movie were less "grotesque" than the first third, and I enjoyed them more. The second half is also a surprisingly emotional and sweet, which I wasn't expecting. Magnificent sophomore film from Julia Ducournau

  • Dune

Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson are fantastic. Zendaya is barely in the movie.

Denis Villeneuve is one of the best filmmakers working today. His films are phenomenal, and this is no exception. Part 2 must be greenlit asap

  • The Last Duel

    The Last Duel

    Pretty good

The cast are good (highlights are Comer, Driver, and, surprisingly, Affleck). The last “chapter” is the best, and the eponymous Last Duel is rather intense. It was pretty noticeable which parts were written by Affleck and Damon, and which parts were written by Holofcener

  • Memoria

Thoughts when I was watching the movie

    1. The sound is loud and comes almost unexpectedly. It works almost like a jump scare (especially the first time it happens)

    2. Juan Pablo Urrego, apart from being very attractive, is also very talented, and I wish he would be in more international features and becomes more popular. Elkin Diaz is great as well (my 2 favorite performances in the movie)

    3. Tilda is great here as always, but I don’t think…

    No Time to Die

Needs more Ben Whishaw and Ana de Armas

  • Hard Eight

    Hard Eight

Despite Philip Baker Hall's amazing performance, I don't think I will ever revisit this one. Paul Thomas Anderson's worst film

  • Maelström

Among Villeneuve's weakest. Not as interesting as his other films. I would recommend this only if you want to complete Villeneuve's filmography

Also, although it's a cool idea, the narrating fish was unnecessary to the overall story

  • Dear Evan Hansen

    Dear Evan Hansen

The cast try their best, but, apart from that, I don’t have a lot of great things to say about this

  • The Power of the Dog

    The Power of the Dog

The filmmaking is fantastic (cinematography, production design and score, in particular, were standouts), and the acting is good (mainly Cumberbatch). However, I wasn't as interested in the story as much as I wanted to be.

  • Minding the Gap

    Minding the Gap

I feel terrible saying this, as it's just a portrayal of a 90 minute long documentary, but Zack sucks

  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Among the MCU’s best. The humor didn’t land, personally, but it had some of the best action in any MCU (or comic book movie in general) ever. I know some people will think that the final fight felt generic, but it worked for me.

Also, you can never go wrong with Tony Leung
