    Really just a disjointed collection of scenes punctuated by CGI jump scares like the first, though what made that alright was its coming-of-age adventure and the rapport between the Losers, the echoes of which carry Chapter Two and the weaker chemistry between its adult cast. Both still fun monster movies, but man, I would have loved to have seen what Cary Fukunaga would’ve done with the material because I don’t find this shit spooky or thematically resonant at all.     I like how what started out with a pretty straightforward revenge flick is now this crazy fantasy saga with its own ever-expanding mythology. This one even has a giant.

    The fight sequences continue to amaze. Frenetic through performance and not a stupid amount of cuts in however many seconds. The choreography and stunt work are mental. Aaand, of course, it’s all very aesthetic. Hopefully, we see more of Halle and her Kevlar-armoured dogs.

    Stunt work really oughta be recognised by the Academy, Parabellum would clean up for this year.
