I really love expedition films. The idea of people exploring parts unknown while encountering bizarre sights and deadly creatures is just a recipe for entertainment in my book. Sure, the characters aren't great and the whole purpose of this film is to give the audience an action film about a giant ape but I'm ok with that. I believe that certain types of films don't need to focus a lot of attention on the characters and this is a great example of that. The characters are given just enough background and emotion to make the audience want to follow along on this expedition. The rest of the film is dedicated to the island and to the many awesome beats that inhabit it. The action was fucking cool and the film had a neat style going for it. Overall, I had fun and that was really all that I was looking for in this film. To be honest, I think this film should've been longer.
