Dear Jinri 2023
watching this was immensely painful to see how society failed her. sulli had deep passion for speaking out about things you believe in and that’s one thing that i’ve always looked up to her about. i didn’t become a fan of her until after her passing and being able to see her speak so truly about the sorrows in her life and the lack of protections she had as just a young woman makes me think more and more about…

Poor Things 2023
what a wonderful homage to the surrealism movement. the references to dali, bosch, jowodorowsky, buñuel, etc. were breathtaking. there’s something so modern about this all while ambiguously being set in early 20th century art nouveau europe. the key theme of feminine autonomy and emma stones character’s unique situation fascinated me. i was gonna write more for this review but forgot about but wow this easily was emily’s best role and yorgos’s best film yet. i cannot wait to see this again

Priscilla 2023
NYFF61
felt a little detached and lacked a proper narrative plotline but other than that i still enjoyed it quite a bit and as a lover of 60s and 70s fashion i was gagged by the costuming and hair/makeup. also the music fit soo well except for the one part where elvis was performing ?? like why’d we transport to the beginning of 2001 a space odyssey for a second
