Sutter Cane’s review published on Letterboxd:
I live in NC, so I appreciate T-Swift singing about us, but this film comes off as a Nicolas Sparks-type affair. This isn't tailor-made for me because I am not the biggest fan of those books or films. But I LOVE Daisy Edgar-Jones, and she got my butt planted firmly in the seat. And while she is fantastic in this...not much else is. I figured out the ending from the start, the two male co-leads are both horrendous, and I just ended up feeling bad for Michael Hyatt & David Strathairn (each of them delivering wonderful turns here) because they both deserve so much better. The author's stigma now adds a bit of unpleasantness to the whole experience. It just isn't my bag.
