Brooks’s review published on Letterboxd:
I love Steve McQueen as a director. 12 Years a Slave and Widows held no punches, and neither does this movie.
It’s about sex addiction. It hits, and it hits hard. Damn, how did Michael Fassbender not get more recognition for this? I’ve come to learn he is one of my favorite actors working these days. He always brings it with his performance. I have to imagine this was a difficult role for him to play, but damn if he wasn’t committed to it. I kinda just wanna stare at the ceiling and think about this movie for awhile.
Oh and I can now say I’ve seen ALL of Fassbender. Nothing is left to the imagine anymore. Hey can someone remake this movie with Henry Cavill??
