A full-blast capital-M Movie with an exceedingly clever script. Somehow makes time for it's deep-as-fuck cast so that no one is left carrying water and still has enough time left over for Noah Fucking Segan to steal the whole thing. Like if Bruce Campbell punched out Tobey and finished Spider-Man II in his costume.
This is the kind of screenplay that probably makes other writers hates writing; the "twist" in this that takes place early on is just one of those one-in-million ideas that can't be done twice. The fact that Rian Johnson thinks he might do a sequel and thereby thinks he can come up with a central conceit that's as clever as this again is maybe the biggest filmmaker flex of 2019.
