lives up to all the hype around it!!! Only the second five stars Iβve given to any new release this year - second only to EverythingΒ Everywhere.
Itβs exactly what youβd expect from Eggers and a centuries old viking story except even better. The production value is πππ and the cast delivers several brilliant performances - namely those of Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, and Claes Bang. Anya Taylor Joy was lovely as well I just wish she had been given a bit meatier of a role.Β
The stakes are high and the plot carries through never feeling muffled down or like itβs dragging past. I do think the second and first acts are far more powerful than the third but itβs got a spectacular ending.
Hollywood, take notes! Films like this one, The Green Knight,Β and The Last DuelΒ are what Hollywood is. Not any of Marvelβs outings. (Though I enjoy everything Marvel puts out) All of that to say I want more movies like this.
