Mr Bobinsky: [The mice] tell me that you are savior, Caroline.
After watching SO many theories of Coraline on TikTok I needed to give this a rewatch and pay attention to every single detail, and keeping in mind those theories made this rewatch so damn fun and special. Even if half of the theories are bogus I, for one, adore them to bits because it’s given me another perspective on this incredible film!!!
I’m just gonna talk about the cinematography…
Politics and poetry, promises, these are lies.
Numbers are as close as we get to the handwriting of God
I love when woman (in post apocalyptic films) are written without being handled by a male, subjected to over sexualised camera angles and she can actually wear normal clothing that doesn’t seem like suggestive AT ALL, like yes ! Wear that tank top and kick his ass.
The colours were colouring and all were stunning.
Halfway through I forgot it was directed by Guillermo Del Toro because as we know this man is known for his gothic stylistic cinema so this was really interesting.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Lucy Gray! I said are you trying to kill me!?
First of all, the costumes, the sets and the actors did an amazing job. TOM BLYTH my boy you are a STAR 😤😮 played young snow to a T. The way he played snow knowing the inevitability of what we all know his character to be like today is insane. I know that as soon as that kid died by his own hand…he felt ‘powerful’ oh no yeah no he’s…
