Lars Henriks’s review published on Letterboxd:
To think that, after watching “Okja”, I was convinced that Netflix would deliver quality features for years to come ... ! “Death Note” is entertaining in the same way as a car crash is. You just can’t turn your eyes away from the catastrophe unfolding on your screen. I’m not familiar with the source material, just with the equally terrible Japanese live action film, but I could really feel it getting slaughtered in this abomination. No one in this is likable AT ALL. Everyone is ridiculously overacting. The story moves way too fast to give a shit about anything - Clearly this is a whole series crammed into one movie with no consideration for character development whatsoever. It’s rare to see a movie with such high production value be THIS terrible, so definitely go check it out!
