  The patient, head scratching, societal intermediary, Sanjuro, dazzles us all as he weighs the moral compass of two rivaling factions. Toshirô Mifune gives his best performance that I’ve seen to date. All the while, Kurosawa balances visual perfection with a masterwork of a script.

  Puss in Boots 2011

  While I wouldn’t call it bad per se, this was the first film in this world that left me feeling bored at multiple points throughout it’s runtime. This sounds ridiculous to actually say but, Humpty Dumpty was the most uninteresting, and frankly annoying, big character of these movies.

  While I still had moments of joy and appreciation because of the sheer charisma and wit that these movies all posses, it fell flat to me. This didn’t feel like it was apart of the same universe at all. The story was extremely basic and the animation felt incredibly uninspired.

  Why don’t people love this? I feel like people dislike certain films in this series because it’s popular to and not because they actually feel that way toward the film. This is my second favorite of the Shrek movies! I honestly loved it!

  Shrek is better than Star Wars. Bring it on! I’ll fight for this! It has better world building, a better story and, way better characters.

  This was my first time watching the original Shrek since I was kid. I remember loving it as a kid but… I swear it’s so much better as an adult! Yeah, the animation hasn’t aged perfectly but, it honestly really suits the movie!

  I love Shrek so much, if you can’t tell! The length of time between my next viewing will be much much shorter than the last!

  God! I really didn’t know what I was about to witness when I walked in the theater for this!

  Mia Goth is a fucking goddess and Alexander Skarsgaard is amazing! This was complete excess and as pretentious as it gets and, I kinda dug it. I would not recommend this movie to people however and, if you hate it then I wholly understand.
