    If you care about transgressive film, you need to watch this.

    If you care about gender violence in film, you need to watch this. 

    If you care about trans cinema, you need to watch this.

    If you care about art, you need to watch this. 


    Honestly the less said about it the better I think, just know that it’s a painful but absolutely incredible watch. You really do need to watch it.

    If you give even a single solitary fuck about animation please please please watch this movie. I think "like nothing you've ever seen before" gets overused, but this truly is like nothing you've ever seen before.

    Perhaps the only thing you need to know about Across the Spider-Verse is that early in the film a character says you can’t have your cake and eat it too, and Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), the central Spider-person of the film, responds “you can if you have two cakes.” While there is only one movie here, it feels like that logic of cake having and eating applied to everything in Across the Spider-Verse.

    Has big "fuck the police" energy, specifically from a "the police are the enforcers of capitalist inequality" standpoint which makes it all the better. Points out the injustices of the way women in the service industry are treated by patrons and bosses alike. And is also hilarious (only one bit went on a little too long for me) and has an adorable dog.
