An incredibly fun, clever, and wonderfully satirical horror comedy! I had such a good time with this. All the characters are perfectly developed, with Rachel Sennott, Maria Bakalova, Amandla Stenberg, and pretty much the whole cast giving amazing performances. The screenplay is so good too, a perfect premise that’s not only super satisfying to watch unfold, but also really funny, and a brilliant parody on Gen Z culture. I loved the atmosphere as well, having the whole film take place within this huge mansion during a raging thunderstorm gave this a lot of suspense, and also did a great job of putting the viewer in the perspective of the protagonist. The music was awesome, it captures that ‘slumber party’ vibe excellently, and I adored it’s use of natural lighting. Gotta be one of my favourite horror films of the year, such a smart a rewatchable film!
