  The Soft Skin 1964

  This film was one of Francois Truffaut films that deviated from the canons of the New Wave movement. It had the feeling of being one of the typical French cinema offering where love triangles like the one at the center of the story were commonplace. This black and white picture is a nostalgic trip to that period in France, where the Paris of that era is the background for most of the action. The director gives a nod to other directors, like Jean Renoir, and others, with some small references to his peers work.
