Carson’s review published on Letterboxd:
Guys I actually like this movie.
Ok don’t get me wrong there’s a lot in this movie that I just don’t like. They took too long to introduce the main characters. Barry is annoying. CGI and color grading is horrible. There is some shitty fucking acting here. Slow mo used too much. And a couple random things that happened that I thought was stupid. But that list of complaints is so much smaller than my list of complaints in the theatrical cut. Not only that but those complaints, for the most part, aren’t even as bad as the ones I had in the theatrical cut.
Because although it takes time for them to get introduced I believe that they are much more fleshed out characters. Even flash who I thought was so fucking annoying got a lot added to his character. I thought cyborg in particular had a very nice arc and I thought many of the scenes he’s in were just beautiful.
The soundtrack absolutely rocks man. This movie jerked off my ears the whole time.
The movie changed so much more than I expected and I’m so glad because they just straight up didn’t have a lot of my least favorite scenes and replaced them with scenes that are actually good. The final battle actually feels big and feels like there’s stakes. The climax felt so much more satisfying too.
Ok this is abrupt but my thoughts are having a hard time thinking and stuff so bye.
