Didn’t really care for the spiritual guidance from the grave, but I really enjoy a good hostage thriller. What this film nailed was the characters. I really cared about the lead, he had so much more depth than most modern horror flick leads.
My reference for murder mystery is Knives Out so it’s tough to compare others to its greatness, but this one was as dull as it can get. The final breakdown of the mystery by Poirot was great, but the film was basically a bunch of repetitive interviews with suspects I knew nothing about, so the development of a cohesive story and characters was lacking in my opinion. Its not bad, but Knives Out spoiled me.
