i wasn’t sure what to expect from this even after seeing trailers and it really exceeded everything i could have ever thought of. the atmosphere and suspense was amazing throughout, set really well from the start and never letting up, not being boring or underwhelming once. it was also really unpredictable and satisfying to experience the story with almost no prior knowledge

as one of my most anticipated movies this year, i was not disappointed at all <3

one of the most beautiful and captivating and emotional movies i’ve seen i had to watch it again <3 the visuals and aesthetic are so pretty and i cried almost the whole runtime both watches i can’t stop thinking about it

i love how unpredictable the first watch was and how the character and the relationship grew and then how watching it again made everything especially in the first hour fit into place so well and have so much more meaning

the experience of scream on a big screen made me love this movie even more than i already do (which is a lot)

i watched it for the first time around this time last year when i’d only seen a few horror movies and didn’t really have any real interest in or love for the genre yet. i started watching horror way too late compared to so many people who were raised on it and have had it as part of…

possession feels like a different kind of horror movie to me. the more conventional horror elements are buried, less important to the plot and the real way that tension and suspense is created is through characters and emotion. horror to me isn’t creating meaningless scares just for the sake of it, and instead it’s being able to truly explore the darkness of reality and tell stories that the optimism of other genres limit. this movie really succeeds at that, creating such a tense atmosphere and plot that creates the worst case of relationship issues and breakups and explores the emotions and horror of the situation

the scariest part of this movie was having to hear carry on my wayward son twice and it making me think about supernatural again when i thought i was finally free from it
