Lizzy’s review published on Letterboxd:
What happened, Diana?
So far removed from the “True Story” hand-holding of common biographies that parts of me are at war with each other on accepting this even exists and knowing the obvious fact that it should. Against the flattering mainstream picture of such a powerful and oppressive entity as the royal family, the lauding of Ms. Spencer’s turmoil being depicted like a horror movie is well-earned; when not perched in the rare privacy between faces, every single room in that exceptionally pretty house is left feeling unsafe. The Bourgeois Household framed as a chokehold on Diana in sight and sound. Larraín’s ghost story of Europe. The last five minutes are as bittersweet as it gets.
