Goes well with a side of lukewarm coffee and Revolution 909.

This is on Youtube and has a comment by Laurie Spiegel, which is just wonderful.

  • Le Sans-nom

    Le Sans-nom

    ★★

A cutout animated short from the Gobelins school.
At 12 minutes, it's about thrice as long as it needs to be, especially because visually it is not particularly interesting. The abstract plot has some interesting ideas, but I had no idea what it was about until I read the discription.
Atmospherically very reminiscent of the videogame Limbo, which came out the same year hmm suspicious.
    Watch it here.

And here I am, while I should be working, watching other people work, nearly 116 years ago people are dead by now, whose children are dead by now, and probably a lot of their children's children. Makes you think. I'm going to get some biscuits now. Bye.

Health for the Americas: Planning for Good Eating

    ★★

I like how the music in this is made up of bits and pieces of other Disney shorts, like the recognizable tune from the Donald Duck short 'Wet Paint'.

The educational short itself is very basic. The theory is outdated by now, although the core message of consuming varied foods is still important. However it makes this message clear in the first 2 minutes and repeats itself over and over for the next 6 minutes. To a point where it becomes patronizing. Pretty sure that people in wartime-era South America had to make due with whatever food they could get their hands on.

  • The ABC of Hand Tools

    The ABC of Hand Tools

    ★★★½

I feel for Primitive Pete. Poor guy just invented tools, an enormous step in human evolution, and the narrator keeps giving him shit. Give the guy some slack yo.

This educational film made me excited for tools. I feel so old now.
