the horniest movie ever made that has constant thrill, of course it rocks. Maybe I’m fucking insane but this movie feels a lot more deliberate than people credit it for, gives a better perspective of a suburban father forced to repress his sexual urges than American beauty until it all blows up in his face with an event very obviously supposed to mirror a typical porn film with all of its tropes like the stereotypical Latina, calming and flirtatious music…

I’m nearly certain that I’ve never seen such extreme, outlandish storytelling in my life. The film has a strange relationship with its narrative relying much more on its saturated neon visuals than any kind of characters or plot focus working as a simple glance into Floridian culture and not a full developed narrative which is everything Korine seems to be going for and does a good job if so this style didn’t really resonate with me on this project particularly…

Wayyyy better than I thought it would be in almost every aspect, most importantly in the way it looks. There were definitely some instances of messy 2003 effects and whatnot but I thought that’s what the entire movie was gonna be which thankfully was not true! Very ahead of its time with the plot being majorly about the dismissal of female victims as well as the poor treatment mentally I’ll people are met with in facilities like this that are…

Rob Zombies most interesting work to me because it’s the one I understand the least, features the velvet underground and the imagery is just absolutely amazing, no matter how little a fan I am of Zombie by the end of his filmography I will never deny the care he has for his craft. It’s a super weird horror film that comments on history repeating itself and destiny in general but as for any real in depth thoughts I think I’ll have to wait until I see it again.

Don’t have much to add when discussing this so I’ll try to keep it as brief as I can. Very obviously a triumph for visual arts, just incredibly beautiful in a way that makes you fear missing a single shot and the way they use the visuals to tell the story is just on another level and really helps the engagement of this very long, slow feature! Takes a while to get there narratively but once we meet our main…

Where to start with blade runner 2049? An Everest sized achievement in modern sci-fi, a sequel that instead of ruining the ambiguity of its predecessor builds off of it and uses it to form its own questions to be left unanswered while maintaining a satisfying conclusion. The visuals are utterly captivating and pair well with the movies serene, quiet nature. Tackles issues of our reliability on technology as we advance alongside it and start to trust it more and more…
