may scavenger hunt film #3
task #25: "a film that takes place in a fictional country" (ok so it's the moon not a country but idec)
this film has been really hyped up over the years, so i really wanted to get through with it. it definitely isn't a masterpiece but it really is interesting, some shots are beautiful and it's a very good study of loneliness (there's something of a human obsession with space isolation, i think). sam rockwell d e l i v e r s but i felt like the plot lacked a bit of a twist, it sort of felt incomplete somehow? it was all pretty predictable sci-fi fare from 30 minutes in, but all in all enjoyable and some gorgeous cinematography. ending was also v pretty and nice!
