  After back-to-back killer horror flicks (You’re Next and The Guest), Adam Wingard skidded out with back-to-back losers. Legendary’s MonsterVerse has been somewhat mediocre from the beginning. And so, I went into this fourth entry with appropriately tepid expectations.

  I was surprised to be met with such effective handling of this epic material. Godzilla vs Kong represents a major redemption for both the director and the film franchise.

  An offbeat take on alien visitation, The Man Who Fell to Earth benefits greatly from the casting of a 28-year-old, “Thin White Duke” era David Bowie.   The Stranger released shortly after the conclusion of World War II and deals with a fascinating topic: Nazi officers attempting to escape justice by fleeing Europe to live undercover elsewhere in the world. The tension and dynamic between the characters played by Orson Welles, Loretta Young, and Edward G Robinson is completely gripping through the entirety of the film’s runtime.
