I watched this for a couple reasons. 1) I just recently bought the Criterion Collection version of this film. 2) It is the 10 year anniversary of this film debuting. 3) This is one of my two favorite films of all time.
I love this movie so much. The style is the best thing ever. The voice acting is superb. The music: amazing. The humor is hilarious. Everything comes together to create a clean and whimsical viewing experience.
Watched the director’s commentary because I have seen the film itself so many times. Wes Anderson is definitely one of my favorite directors. His style is great and I appreciate his visions for his films so much. Definitely would love to have a conversation with this man after hearing this. It’s so fascinating to understand what went into the making of it. And to hear an artist talk about their art is just a wonderful thing.
I can’t decide whether this or Scott Pilgrim vs the World is my favorite movie, so I think whenever I watch one, I’ll just make it the #1 and just change it every time I watch one or the other.
