Detective bat masquerading. Stoic and dirty. Managing to find a textural focus in itself through a orange-flavored car chase of enjoyable neo-noir rawness and much appreciated superhero-crime-thriller tendencies more over the usual bombast. As a starting franchise, it's coda sets itself up for future installments, which to me doesn't do too much though I don't watch superhero related films like these that much (honestly). I do wish for more originality from the mainstream Western canon (something like Malignant for example). I wouldn't mind more character-driven works; smaller-scale stories, and such. But for now, their formalism and world-building will be their focused aspects that I'll appreciate.
