P Los’s review published on Letterboxd:
This was weird for a “sequel” to cloverfield. It takes a lot risks, namely that 80% of the film is build up, and those risks don’t really pay off, but they don’t take away from the film. Sure, I was kinda on the edge, but I was also just kinda neutral. This is an interactive joy in a lot of ways, and it’s also not far from being a hangout movie with aliens. It sort of emulates the first one in being an atypical take on the genre, or at least tries to emulate it... but I’m struggling to figure out what to get out of this. Is this a sequel I didn’t know I needed? Probably not.
Also, at the end- a molotov cocktail? That’s what did it?
