Trash should be trashy. (At the mercy of a six year old)
I’ll watch anything with Takeshi Kitano or big robots.
I really liked this a lot.
This is how you do genre sequels. Get rid of the established characters, give a new setting, new twist to the formula - boom, easy pleaser.
Now don’t ruin it by making more sequels to this storyline and it’s a winner.
(Also, that new predator design is the only other one outside of the OG to be actually cool)
John Ostrander inspired and James Gunn skewed means this was only going to fall down for me if it was an absolutely disaster which, thankfully, it was nowhere near.
I’m really glad Joel K. gets a chance to shine in this too and wish he got more opportunities to do this kind of thing. Elba and Robbie are really good and the supporting cast are fab.
Also got to give it props for having two CGI pal characters that aren’t super grating for a change (Sebastian and King Shark are equally fun).
I’d definitely watch more of JG’s weirdo comic character movies for sure.
