Absolutely chaotic. Neither explanation nor escape provided, which was indeed a bold move. It’s funny and disturbing at the same time to look back and see how it all started with birds, in such simple manners, one thing leads to another - a typical love/hate encounter, an innocent pair of lovebirds, an easy weekend away from the city. The tension and the horror is so masterfully built that the mere sight of birds silently gathering, not a dead body, scared the hell…

The buildup was pretty intense (the kid’s nasty lies and her tendency to play victim), so I did expect a huge ‘awakening’ moment for the stepmom, which never really came.
She clearly had her doubts and especially tit for tat attitude (thinking of punching her mom, putting toys and coins in the 🍙 to test the girl). Ngl I was like YATTA! when she slapped the kid. 😂 I also get that the painful childhood trauma plus her husband’s influence…
