Mare of Easttown

Mare of Easttown

main thoughts are that im tired of shows about cops being Human and Having Problems Too. like ok..if you‘re having such a hard time and you have anxiety maybe don’t be a cop. turn in your gun and badge forever. that one time mare went to therapy and said that another detective couldn’t deal with the stress of the job and quit to be a painter and is so much happier i just would yell quit your job at the tv every time she complained.. sorry evan peters you had to die but you were playing a cop so :-|

appreciate somewhat that the main characters generally had more dimension than other tv shows and that the storyline wasn’t super predictable so it stressed me out the whole time. the most sympathy and character development was given to mare and i simply cannot empathize with a cop so idk how much i actually enjoy the character development part

modern tv has diversity equity and inclusion syndrome and throws in random queer characters and characters of color just to say the cast isn’t all white but then the narratives of these characters are very underdeveloped and they mostly exist to support the growth of the main white characters. and then their storylines don’t even really get resolved so it confirms to me they were just thrown in
