A very awesome and stylish sequel to its awesome and stylish predecessor, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is such a good time with a real gut punch of emotion towards the end. Excellently written and directed by James Gunn, this movie is brings everyone's favorite guardians back together in a story unlike any other.
Everyone here really brought it, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Batista, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, and Kurt Russell. Kurt Russell as Ego was amazing and definitely at the top of the list of best MCU villains. Two standout performances were from Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff. The story was great but the first act seemed a little bland and it wasn't until Ego shows up that the story that it actually turns good. The soundtrack wasn't as good as the first but it was still pretty solid. The directing is solid, James Gunn really knows his job at making this property work on the big screen.
The visuals are great, love the use of bright colors for Ego's Planet and dark colors for the space parts. Another nit pick I have is the Sovereign just following the Guardians because of batteries, I mean this is a group of misfits so you'd expect something like that to happen. Either way that's just one thing that bugged me.
Overall a fun movie with great performances, stunning visuals, and very well writing and directing. Solid 4/5.
