Like if they gave one of the really bonkers Moffat-era Doctor Who two-parters 100x the usual budget. Aliens, robots, martial arts wizards, magic artifacts, time travel, comedy, drama, they just threw everything in here and it has the fun "something for everyone" pop epic vibe of Jurassic Park or Independence Day.
I loved it now, but I know this would have basically taken over my life if I'd seen it when I was 14.
