Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ★★★

The inciting incident makes little sense when seen from afar, the characters are flat, and the central conflict between Shang-Chi and his father isn't convincing, although Tony Leung is great, but the action sequences have been executed well. The bus fight with a good choreography despite the annoying camera movements in a few bits is a decent opener but the one-on-one with Shaun and the masked ninja is undoubtedly impressive. The 3rd arc's ring fight is decently engaging but the heavyweight battle involving the mythological creatures is a surprising addition and rescues the last act from being forgettable.
