went into this based on the tagline and cast alone and, wow, i really enjoyed it. it was engaging, thought-provoking, had great characters, and moments of real heart amongst solid satire. and hilariously, it looks like the reactions to this film are proving its point. also amazing use of lana del rey. no notes.

A Taste of Hunger 2021
this couldβve been brilliant, but ultimately felt like it was trying to be two different films in one. still enjoyable though. great performances and style.

Ellie and Abbie (and Ellie's Dead Aunt) 2020
is this film perfect? no. is it everything my gay teenage self would have needed to feel more secure and supported? YES.
this was cute, deeply australian, funny & heartbreaking. there were so many hilariously lesbian moments in this film, iβm obsessed.Β the script couldβve used work, but overall the sentiments were beautiful β from the two teenage lesbians having vastly different coming out experiences to the mother & patty coping with the loss of aunt tara all those decades later.
