    Cry Macho

    ★★

Clint I love you man... but this wasn't good. Where did you find that kid actor? He was cringeworthy all the way through.

  • Sully

"You know, it's been a while since New York had news this good... especially with an airplane, Captain."

    Clint, you sneaky sneaky man.

  • Us

    Us

    ★★★★

And I thought it was nearly impossible to make a horror movie nowadays with completely original ideas and concepts. This was great. There is some logistical aspects in the third act that conflicted me though. But when you start a movie with a simple premise and then continuously stretch said premise to the max by the end, it's more than likely some things won't be clear I guess. I'm sure Jordan Peele had it all organized in his head before…

  • The Abyss

    The Abyss

    ★★★★

I chose to watch the director's cut because people say it ties up loose ends, and by the end it does feel wrapped up pretty great. The only reason I don't give this a full 5 star rating is entirely because of the third act.

Like I said, it does feel wrapped up. I think it's just a matter of personal taste. Without spoiling anything - it just felt cartoony, somewhat cliché and it heavily reminded me of Spielberg's A.I.…

  • Do the Right Thing

    Do the Right Thing

    ★★★★

This movie is 32 years old and it's still relevant today, maybe even more. Normally that would be a good thing, but if you watched the movie you know it really isn't.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

    ★★★★½

Another classic that took me way too long to finally watch. Jack Nicholson owns my soul.

  • The Green Knight

    The Green Knight

    ★★★★

Having not seen many 2021 movies yet, the few ones that I watched were from bad to just "good". I feel this one is the first truly "great" this year. Not for everyone for sure, but definitely for me.

  • Cruella

    Cruella

    ★★★

It's kinda sad that I enjoyed Estella way more than Cruella... you know, the actual protagonist of the movie? It's not that I didn't like Emma Stone's performance, she was actually quite great. I just liked her more as Estella and I found myself wanting more scenes with her. Emma Thompson was phenomenal as well.

On a side note, what's with the constant, almost non-stop soundtrack all over the place? It got really annoying after a while.

Anyways - pointless movie but surprisingly entertaining.

  • Another Round

    Another Round

    ★★★★½

    This movie in a nutshell:

Mads Mikkelsen: Hey can I borrow your heart?
Me: Ummm... I'm not sure about...
    Mads Mikkelsen: *starts dancing*
    Me: Here, take it!!

  • A Bridge Too Far

    A Bridge Too Far

    ★★★

Proof that having an all star cast is not the only thing you need for a movie to be great. Not bad though just not great.

  • The Last Temptation of Christ

    The Last Temptation of Christ

    ★★★★

This was way crazier than I was expecting. Still, I think I might like The Passion of the Christ just a bit better because of the raw, furious direction Mel Gibson delivered, which I feel it's lacking in this one. But I get that's not the point of this movie, this one had a whole different story to tell and I loved it. Also the dialogue is superb. Also Willem Dafoe. Duh.

So at the end of the day I…
