Paul Hibbard’s review published on Letterboxd:
Just out of a screening and I'll write more later. Halloween Kills is brutal. The violence is so well directed by David Gordon Green, maintaining an over the top ruthlessness but never leaving the grounded reality of this world. The film is clever, exciting and at times hilarious.
People may have a problem with the direction they go with Michael, but the choices are less about him and more the response to him. And some may feel it's not a fully fledged film. It's more of a middle act in a three act structure. And that's fair. Halloween Kills may just be the bridge between Halloween and Halloween Ends, but it's a bridge of carnage that is made up of the brutally disposed carcasses of Michael's victims. And that ties me over just fine until this all concludes.
