Oops never logged this. Must've been too hungover.
The Vinterberg-Mikkelsen tandem has a special place in my heart. One of the finest screenings I was ever privileged to attend was an advanced viewing of The Hunt at SAG.
That Q&A, and a short conversation afterwards, cemented my natural love for Mads Mikkelsen. And learning about his origins in dance and acrobatics allowed me to relate to him on another level (no spoilers).
Onto this film, which I had high hopes for... I watched it as brotherly bonding with my sister's husband, sipping on Strong Zeroes. It was certainly the perfect pairing and that's what I'd give it.
Writing-wise, not on par with Vinterberg's more daring domestic exploits. Performances expectedly delivered. Still, a solid watch to round out the year.
And so on...
