The Godfather

The Godfather ★★★★½

I first went to see The Godfather when I was 13 with my parents. I liked the movie because believe or not I read the book first.  A couple of the very light sexual scenes were a bit awkward I have to say. I watched the movie again at least five times and each time I saw it I enjoyed it more and got more out of this great movie!
In my opinion the relationship between Vito Corleone and his son Michael made the movie so impactful. Sure I loved the depiction of the mafia and the Italian New York way of life, the wedding scene and ultimately the payback. However the hospital scene moved me because of the pure desire to protect, and the courage Michael exhibited for his father. Vito Corleone had equal if not more affection for Michael and always new his third son Michael was the one. Michael spent the rest of his time in The Godfather 2 & 3 living up to his Fathers belief in him.
